miles from Recife along the coast, João Pessoa is the capital of
the state of Paraiba. The city is located on the banks of the Paraiba
River and prossesses lovely beaches and fascinating historical monuments,
including colonial monasteries and the Sao Francisco Church (18th century).
Campina Grande is small town located 60 miles inland from João Pessoa. It is the site of Ingá Rock which bears mysterious, primitive inscriptions believed by some archaeologists to have been made by early Phoenician navigators. |
