At the historical center of the town, visit to Saint Sebastian Cathedral, with its neo-classic style, the Municipal Theater, completely restored, the Vezúvio, Nacib and Gabriela’s famous bar (Jorge Amado’s romance characters). From the D. Eduardo Square, we continue the tour to the Paranaguá Palace (old “Intendência”, actual City Hall), and the mother church (Saint George), with the museum of sacred art.  At 2 de Julho Avenue, we see the statue of Christ and the old harbor area, full of bars, bistros and restaurants. Visit to the ruins of the “Bataclan’s Cabaret”, old Cocoa Colonels meeting place. Our tour continues through Victory Hill with a visit to the Ursulin’s Convent and Chapel (N.S. da Piedade) and the north area of the town, with stops at the Cocoa Square (small cocoa farm) and the homemade chocolate factory. 

BEACHES  and  OLIVENÇA  H/D. 
In the south area, we will pass through the Pontal Bay, South Beaches, Cururupi (river mouth and a historical place) and Olivença (village founded in 1700 by the Jesuits), now a hydromineral resort with medicinal waters. 

COCOA  FARM  VISIT  H/D. 
Visiting a cocoa farm, one will not only feel how the old “Cocoa Colonels” lived, but know all about the cocoa plantation techniques of this golden fruit, as it is called. Visit to the Cocoa Research Center included (open Mon-Fri 08:00-12:00). 

BOAT  TOUR  to  THE  ENCHANTED  LAGOON. 
Located about 20KM from the center of the town, the “Enchanted Lagoon” is a place to remember. Our tour includes transfer Ilhéus/Sambaituba Village (boat anchorage). The boat trip on the Almada River takes approximately 1 ½ hours navigating through the cocoa farms and the still preserved “Atlantic Forest”, until we reach the lagoon. Crossing its 5KM, we can bathe at the falls and visit the local caves. Sandwiches are served during the tour. A short rest and return to the boat anchorage at Sambaituba Village. Return to Ilhéus.
