FOR002A - CITY TOUR H/D Visiting the most important points of Fortaleza this tour is quite interesting. The city was colonized in 1612 by the Portuguese, and a small fort called "Sao Sebastiao" was constructed. This fort still exists. Fortaleza was also invaded by the Dutch, in 1640, and several battles again the Indians happened. Fortaleza has various squares, monuments, streets, buildings and churches that tell the history of the city founded in 1826. Our tour also includes the newer parts of this city, passing by Avenida Beira Mar, the Port of Jangadas with the statue of Iracema, the Future Beach, Aldeota (the noble area of the city) and the Mausoleum of the President and much more... Duration 3 hours. FOR004A - CUMBUCO BEACH F/D Cumbuco is located about 25 km west of Fortaleza. A former fishermen village which now has many restaurants and simple bars on the beaches, as well as beach-houses. From here it is possible to visit the "Lagoa da Banana" (Banana Lagoon), where the visitors can "ski" on the dunes down to the lake, or do buggy rides also on the dunes. There are also tour with local sailing rafts called "Jangadas", used especially on the northern Brazilian coast for fishing. The beach is straight
